Instructions:
For this assignment, you will work in small groups to write, direct and star in your own 30 minute film. You may choose any genre you want (romance, horror, action adventure, documentary, etc.), but you will need to create a polished, professional work that demonstrates that your group has put a great deal of time and effort into the assignment.

  1. Plan (50 points): within your group, create a document including the title of your film, its genre, a description of the role of each member of your group and a short synopsis
  2. Script (100 points): within your group, create a complete script including all directions and dialogue spoken by the characters (the film itself should follow the script; it should not be improvised)
  3. Film (100 points): within your group create a 30 minute film containing opening and closing credits, action, dialogue, music, etc.
  4.  Self Evaluation (50 points): working individually, answer a questionnaire evaluating your group and your individual contributions to the film project
  5. Critique (100 points): working individually, create a five-paragraph essay describing what was good about your film and/or what could have been improved

Grading:
For your plan, script and film, every member in the group will receive the same score. If a member of your group is not performing up to the task, the other members will have the option of removing that person, who will then have to complete all of the tasks alone. You will receive a film rubric in the next few weeks.

For your self evaluation, you will be graded individually based on the quality of your answers. For your film critique, you will be graded individually based on the organization, quality, format and appropriateness of your critique. You will receive a critique rubric in the next few weeks.
