Introduction

Hey, how are you guys doing? Great? It is almost the end of the year, and this that I am sharing with you is the final portfolio for my Writing Lab I course. 

All these works is what I had done for semester two in Writing Lab I. I wanted to make this portfolio public, because later on, I can go back and look at what I have done. These writings are not masterpieces, but I did put full effort in this, so I hope you like it.

This Online Portfolio contains

1. Annotated Bibliography - I like this writing because this was easy-going, and there was some of my style was in it; it was easy because you just need to write a summary and an analysis for each citation
2. Case Study - this was a study of a broken-hearted girl and i really enjoy, because I can try to be a fake-reporter and pull out all the dirty secrets of it. 
3. Movie Script Project - this was a group project, it was a tough time, we had more than one months to do it; I think this work was not that great, not full-effort yet, but I would probably use this one to show how cooperation is really important in group work..
4. In-class Writing Assignments - these are great advantage for me, because I get to write in a limited periods of time and get feedback from it of how I write; from there, I can improve my writing in test and exams

It was a great pleasure to be in this class, and my goals are to join course that has awesome assignments like this and an fantastic teacher like that, as the same as before, write more and more even some of it is lame, and write some songs. Enjoy your life!

Semester II Project: Writing Portfolio

Due Date: Friday, June 4, 2012 (no late portfolios will be accepted)

Instructions:

A portfolio is a collection of work designed to demonstrate a person’s skills. Because you’ve spent a whole school year completing a variety of written assignments, this is an ideal time for you, as a writer, to put together your own portfolio.

For the assignment, I will be assessing you by evaluating your progress as a writer throughout the second half of the school year. To do this, I will be looking at all of the writing you’ve done this semester to determine how you’ve responded to feedback from me and from your peers to improve your writing and how you’ve learned from that feedback not to make the same errors in subsequent assignments.

You are welcome to print out all of the work you’ve done and turn in your portfolio in a folder or binder or you may submit an electronic portfolio (a zip file or a website or blog containing all of your written work).

Your portfolio should contain the following items:

1. Cover page – should be interesting and eye-catching
2. Table of contents – list all of the documents included in your portfolio
3. Introduction – a brief evaluation of how you’ve progressed as a writer this semester, discuss your opinion of your performance on each assignment, your opinion of how you’ve improved as a writer and what your future goals are as a student writer
4. Annotated bibliography (2 March) – include the assignment sheet, rough draft of annotation #1, the rough drafts of annotations 2-4 with feedback, the peer review feedback you received, the final draft containing all eight annotations and your grade sheet
5. Case study (23 March) – include the assignment sheet, the rough draft with feedback, the final draft and your grade sheet
6. Film script (17 May) – include the assignment sheet, approximately 4 pages of the rough draft with feedback, the same 4 pages of the final draft and your group’s grade sheet
7. In-class writings – choose 2 of the 4 in-class essays you will compose over the next five weeks and include them in the portfolio as representations of what you’re able to do as a writer in a limited period of time

Introduction

Thank you for visiting my first online portfolio for my Writing Lab Course!

All these writing is all done by me in the first semester of my freshman year. I am very proud of myself after looking all of the writing and editing. I believe every time I do an essay for this class, either working alone or in a group work, I put all my effort and concentration to create the best work. I know it’s not that great like a masterpiece but it’s still my best, so except it.

This Online Portfolio contains:

1.     Opinion Essay – I think this essay is my second best out of all my work.

2.     Process Essay – Best quality I could make, because I am a girl and I am familiar with it.

3.     Writing to Publish – In my life record, it’s the second magazine that I work

4.     Lab Report Essay – I don’t think this is my best  because it did not stuck in my head for long enough, so I can take time to fix it, in the middle of the exam week. [Voted most confusing writing to me, trust me, I am an artist, not a scientist]

Even though I have many course of my life in my personal living, still in this class, I work with my friend, I only hope that my academic writing improve to be ready for the next three and a half year of high school, and later college. [Goals: write more and read more, any suggestion?]

5. Process essay (2 October) – five paragraph essay explaining a step-by-step process, include the assignment sheet (on Edline), your rough draft, the peer review questionnaire filled out by a classmate, your final draft and your grade sheet
6. Publication (25 November) – group project demonstrating your writing on a variety of topics, include the assignment sheet, at least one example of your own writing from the publication and your grade sheet
7. Lab report (18 December) – written assignment on a topic of your choice following the format of a lab report, include the assignment sheet, your rough draft, peer review questionnaire filled out by a classmate, your final draft and your grade sheet
